Mother's Day / mother's birthday Cake


I totally believe that all the mom on the world LUV everything related to NUTS!!! sometimes, they look like squirrels to me.....LOL!!

I made a 100% Authetic Chestnut Cake (from inside out) for my mom's birthday....

First, fill it up with Chestnut puree + chestnut cream

Then, cover with another layer of chestnut puree ..... look at that.....


After that...Cover the top of the cake with chestnut cream flowersss....tonnes of flowers...tonnes of nutty flavor!!


all right...we finished1/2 of the cake on that nite...(after a big dinner at korean bbq..hhhahhahahahha)...and this cake was all gone on the other day........GREAT Turn out!! ...thank you thank you!

Vanilla Bean Chiffon Cake

Chiffon cake...plus real Vanilla Beans....light and fluffy...recipe adapted from here .....

the key for success of this cake is beating the egg white to the right stage...like this:
then gently fold the egg whites into the egg+flour mixture.

Mister Donut 山寨版

I saw a post earlier about homemade Mister dount....wo..wo....INTERESTING!!! Can't resist not to try out!

Conclusion: taste almost the same!! the shape= so so...whahahhahahahha.. it is worth to try out if you miss the Asian style donut, which is kinda chewy and lighter in texture (compare to NA ones)...and no techniques at all, I mean not much in terms of baking...成功指數 = 90% (if you are looking for the EXACT Shape....) and one more thing, the batter is very forgiving! very easy to work with !! The most challenge part I found was the shaping part.....um......yea yea...I'm working on it! hahahahahha

First Bridal Shower Cake

so excited to make the first bridal shower cake ever....it is really fun !! ...even though the cake was kinda collapsed at one point....(its my bad to not making my own icing.......)....well...final product still looks okay....no one ever notice that ...wooohooo!!!

I also found it so hard to take pictures during the process...usually my hands are dirty...and I dun even rmb to take pix sometimes until the finished product....it's all about multi-tasking....I know! will learn from there.....UvU...
